Co-founded by Kenny Barnes, DC native and Chair of the Rotary Club of Washington DC’s Peace Initiative Committee, along with Kamal Ali, owner of Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington DC, Tyrone Parker, and Roach Brown, Time for us to get involved urges you to join us in addressing the growing epidemic of gun violence in our communities.
Our vision is to see a DMV where all communities are united, empowered, and actively engaged in creating a safe and peaceful environment for our youth and families. We envision a future where gun violence, youth violence, and other forms of violence are significantly reduced, and where every resident has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Our coalition is committed to fostering collaboration, promoting evidence-based strategies, and advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of our communities. Together, we can build a brighter future for the DMV.
Our Mission
We aim to create a coalition that brings together organizations (to include 501(C)3 or private), religious groups, and any individuals or entities to work collectively towards reducing violence. Rather than operating in silo’s we will work together in ensuring the safety of our youth and families in the DMVOur Vision
